FOR WOMEN

“What woman doesn’t yearn for time without having to be anything for anyone else? To rest, restore, to settle in….To be in touch with herself, her body, her rhythm. To clarify her own sense of things and to get back to her essence…” – Camille Maurine

Make time for yourself

For all women

Our therapeutic massage and bodywork sessions are tailored to each woman’s specific needs. Sessions can incorporate an array of modalities such as effleurage, deep-tissue, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, passive stretching, and guided meditation.

Therapeutic massage for women has numerous benefits for overall well-being. Research studies have shown that regular massage and bodywork can help alleviate muscular tension, poor posture, fatigue, stress, anxiety, headache symptoms, hormonal imbalance, digestive and circulatory issues. The use of essential oils and steamed towels (both optional) are incorporated to deepen the state of relaxation.

Momma to be

We focus on the unique and specific needs of each woman during pregnancy. While this is an amazing and beautiful time in a woman’s life, many pregnant women can feel periods of physical discomfort and emotional stress.

We use specific body cushions that contour to a woman’s body during pregnancy. This allows accessibility for the prenatal client to lay in a prone position (face down with body raised so that belly can be safely positioned in open space of cushions), side-lying with support and reclined on back with head, heart and lower legs elevated.

We also offer trigger point therapy sessions for prenatal women that are close to/at/past their due to help stimulate labor. Specific acupressure points are incorporated in the massage session for this treatment. Guided breath-work and labor positioning practice can also be incorporated into the session.

New mommas

Our postpartum massage and bodywork sessions focus on the new mom’s well-being. Sessions incorporate a range of techniques to help ease the nervous system, alleviate muscle soreness, stabilize weight-bearing joints, restore postural balance and overall relaxation. This can also be a time to assist with scar tissue release from a c section and gentle abdominal massage for core function.

If you are requesting to come in before your first postpartum check-up by a care provider, please contact Carrie prior to your appointment.

COVID-19 PROTOCOL
A clean space, proper practitioner hygiene, procedures to ensure client safety and disease prevention protocols have always been on the forefront of my massage/bodywork practice. During the time of Covid-19, there is increased vigilance in providing safety to our staff and clients. The following changes have been made to help protect my clients and myself.

  • Please review our Covid-19 screening prior to your appointment. Screening information is attached to your new client intake form along with your appointment confirmation email.
  • Therapist will greet you in the lobby and use a no-touch thermal temperature screening to confirm that you don’t have a fever.
  • I’ll ask you if you have developed any symptoms of illness since confirming your appointment. If you feel ill on the day of your session, there is no penalty for canceling your appointment. Massage is not advised if you have any symptoms of illness.
  • Please bring a face mask to use while you are in the building and during your massage.
  • Close contact with people increases the risk of infection from COVID-19. You acknowledge the risks involved and give consent to receive a massage from your practitioner.
  • There is a hand-hygiene station that I will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find hand sanitizer in the lobby area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.
